School Leadership Team (SLT)

A DOE-mandated committee where parents work with the principal, teachers and staff to set school priorities. All meetings are on Wednesdays at 3pm.

The School Leadership Team decides how the school budget is spent and evaluates the school's progress. It develops the Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP), which sets annual goals in every area and focuses on educational strategies for improvement. The team is made up of the Principal, a PTA president, the UFT representative, teachers, parents and staff members.

What the SLT does

Comprehensive Educational Plan

Develop, review and revise the school's CEP — the annual roadmap for instructional goals and priorities.

Budget alignment

Ensure the school-based budget supports the educational goals set out in the CEP.

Parent & staff voice

Create a real structure for families and staff to shape school decisions, not just be informed of them.

Consultation with the Principal

Meet monthly with the administration on school-wide policy and planning.

SLT meetings are open to the community — dates are on the meeting schedule and calendar.
